Question: It is the middle of summer in Texas and my air conditioner is broken. I alerted my landlord to this problem 2 weeks ago and it is still not fixed. Do I have any legal options?
Response By Tomek Pilch: You may in fact have some legal options available. I cannot comment specifically, but you should find a lawyer in Texas that is familiar with landlord/tenant laws in the state. When you first speak with a lawyer you could ask if he would draft a letter to your landlord that tells him he needs to fix your problem or face legal repercussions. If that doesn’t work then you will already have legal counsel by your side to help represent you if the case goes to court.
